What we did

We performed a systematic review through literature search in four databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Ovid-MEDLINER) for published randomised controlled trials. We screened all the retrieved papers and included 44 studies in the analysis.

Key learnings

The study found no strong evidence of any difference in clinical resolution of amoxicillin compared to amoxicillin-clavulanate or other antibiotics for CAP treatment within the methodological limitations of published studies and large uncertainty of pooled estimates.
